GQ002 – Rehab Those Knees!
My biggest issue over the past couple years has been my knees.
When my knees hurt, I do less karate. And, more importantly, when my knees hurt, I avoid exercise.
So – rehab the knees and I can practice more and get in better shape AND lose some weight.
Like I said before, I think my knee problems stem mostly from tightness in the muscles and connective tissue above and below the knees. Over the past couple years, I’ve found a few things that really seem to help. So I’ve decided to try all of those things that I’ve been discovering…
Over the past couple days, I’ve combined everything into a single daily regimen.
(BTW, I’ll discuss this in more detail down the road).
- Knead my calves with a massage device called “The Stick”.
- Stretch out calves on the stairs
- Roll thighs and IT band on a foam roller and on a 2-liter bottle
- Stretch for IT band
- Quadricep stretch
- Groin stretch
- Hamstring stretch
- Apply glucosamine cream to knees
That’s it. I’ve done this the past couple days and my knees already seem to be improving.
