GQ032 – Start of Seiu + a Confession
Started working on the form of Seiu today. Once again, day one is that analysis phase – doing the form really slowly. First I did the ultra slow version then I worked on it at 40 BPM.
Seiu emphasises upper-body strikes and was quite a contrast from Geri -
a lower-body intensive form.
My confession? I missed my health club workout yesterday. Spent the morning and early afternoon getting in my Sanchin-Ryu workout and working on my websites. Nancy and I also packed and shipped three guinea pig cages. Then I went golfing with friends in the evening. That left no time for a health club workout.
No, I don’t feel terrible about it. I know I didn’t waste time yesterday – I prioritized – I got my Sanchin-Ryu workout in – I did what needed to get done in my businesses. So… I got a lot done. I just ran out of time.
Did I make progress yesterday? Yep. In spite of not getting in my weight training and elliptical training, I did get in my Sanchin-Ryu workout in which I focused on the form of Seiu and Seisan-Chin kata. And I did my knee rehab exercises and avoided eating after 8:30. So… a little slip up… but the plan is still on track.
And, I got to golf nine holes with my friends. It’s good mental health to spend time with friends. And I guess some might even consider golfing as a form of exercise.
